Mumbai ends Delhi Rajasthan Bengaluru
JAIPUR, India – Virat Kohli and Phil Salt smashed aggressive fifties to power the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a commanding nine-wicket victory over the Rajasthan Royals in Sunday’s Indian Premier League clash.
Phil Salt blasted 65 runs off just 33 deliveries, hitting six sixes and five fours, while Virat Kohli finished not out on 62 from 45 balls. Their 92-run opening partnership laid the foundation for Bengaluru’s chase as they cruised to 175-1 in just 17.3 overs. Despite a brilliant 75 off 47 balls from Yashasvi Jaiswal, the Rajasthan Royals managed to post only a modest total of 173-4 in their 20 overs.

The win propelled Bengaluru to third place on the points table, marking their fourth victory in six games. Rajasthan, meanwhile, slipped to eighth place after their fourth defeat in six matches. In the second match on Sunday, Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by 12 runs, giving them their first defeat of the season.
Tilak Varma led Mumbai’s innings with a quickfire 59 off 33 balls, helping them post a total of 205-5. During the chase, their spinners tightened the pressure, with impact substitute Karn Sharma taking 3 wickets for 36 runs in his four overs.
Mitchell Santner took 2-43 and contributed with a brilliant piece of fielding as Delhi lost its final three wickets through consecutive run-outs.The team was dismissed for 193 in 19 overs.

Salt-Kohli show in Jaipur
After being sent in to bat, Rajasthan lost captain Sanju Samson for 15, stumped off Krunal Pandya (1-29) in the seventh over following a 49-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal that came off 41 balls. Jaiswal got off to a brisk start, reaching his second half-century of the season in just 35 deliveries. He then partnered with Riyan Parag for a 56-run stand off 39 balls, with Parag scoring 30 off 22 balls.
Later, he added 21 runs from 16 balls with Dhruv Jurel. Despite this, Bengaluru kept a strong hold on the game, stopping any Rajasthan batter from building significant momentum.
Jaiswal was bowled out lbw by Josh Hazlewood (1-26) in the 16th over. However, Dhruv Jurel’s unbeaten 35 off 23 balls, including two sixes, helped Rajasthan score 47 runs in the final four overs. Despite recovering from a home defeat to Delhi Capitals, Bengaluru made a solid comeback.
Phil Salt began aggressively, bringing up his half-century in just 28 balls, including four sixes.He shared a 50-run partnership off 30 balls with Virat Kohli and extended the opening stand to 92 from 52 deliveries, establishing a strong platform for the chase.
After Salt was dismissed in the ninth over, Kohli took control of the chase, ensuring Rajasthan had no chance to mount a comeback. Impact substitute Devdutt Padikkal provided solid support with an unbeaten 40 from 28 deliveries, while Kohli brought up another IPL fifty, reaching the milestone in 39 balls. The duo added 83 runs off 54 balls, leading Bengaluru to a win with 15 balls to spare.

After being asked to bat first, Mumbai got off to a strong start with opener Ryan Rickelton scoring 41 off 25 balls. Suryakumar Yadav added 40 from 28 deliveries, with both batters clearing the ropes twice.

Delhi lost Jake Fraser-McGurk

In response, Delhi lost Jake Fraser-McGurk for a golden duck, but Karun Nair made a memorable return to the IPL after seven years, hammering 89 off 40 balls with five sixes. He partnered with Abhishek Porel (33) to put together a 119-run stand off 61 balls.
