KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari was released from the hospital on Friday following significant progress in his health, as confirmed by his doctor, Dr. Asim Hussain. He was admitted to a hospital in Karachi on April 1 due to a decline in his health and remained under medical care for over 10 days.

In a phone conversation with Geo News, Dr. Asim confirmed that the President’s rapid COVID-19 test returned negative, but he is still receiving treatment from infectious disease specialists.
He also mentioned that the President is undergoing physiotherapy as part of his ongoing recovery and is expected to remain in the hospital for a few more days. Doctors have not allowed any visitors to see President Zardari during his stay in the hospital.
President Zardari Hospitalization
President Zardari tested positive for COVID-19 on April 2 and has remained in isolation since, receiving continuous medical care and undergoing several diagnostic tests to assess his condition. On April 3, Dr. Asim shared an update with the media, confirming that the President was being treated at a private hospital in Karachi by a team of infectious disease specialists.

He added that the President’s family is being regularly updated on his health status. Senior Provincial Minister Sharjeel Memon last week rejected claims about a deterioration in President Zardari’s health, stating that his condition was consistently improving .
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif
Memon also clarified that rumors about the President being moved to Dubai for treatment were false and expressed confidence in his full recovery. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also inquired about President Zardari’s health during a phone call.
The Prime Minister prayed for President Zardari’s swift recovery, noting that the entire nation was keeping him in their thoughts and prayers.
At the same time, National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq spoke with President Zardari over the phone to check on his health. Sadiq extended his best wishes and expressed hope for the president’s complete and swift recovery during their conversation.
